3-Phase Production Separator — Design & Simulation
Detailed EngineeringProcess Simulation
Project Overview
Process design and performance simulation of a 1,800 mm ID horizontal three-phase production separator for an offshore field, sized for 8,000 BPD oil, 15 MMscfd gas, and 4,500 BPD produced water.
Technical Scope
- Vessel
- 1,800 mm ID horizontal
- Oil
- 8,000 BPD
- Gas
- 15 MMscfd
- Water
- 4,500 BPD
- Cases
- Plateau, max-GOR, min-flow
- Client
- Confidential
Engineering Approach
Sizing was confirmed across plateau production, maximum GOR, and minimum flow turndown cases, with the complete internals package specified — cyclonic inlet diverter, oil-water weir configuration and weir heights, water boot dimensions, and wire mesh mist extractor.
The nozzle schedule and nozzle loads were issued for the structural interface, with the equipment datasheet and fabrication specification produced for competitive tender.
